Default setting lash on cams.. can i get away with a few being loose?

doing the shims in my head today. just wondering if its gonna hurt the cams (they are brand new) to run them loose at all.

i would dearly like to put a few run in k's on the engine this weekend (also has fresh rings and bearings) and just wondering if its ok to run it like that.

    and by how much?

intake tolerance is 0.15-0.25mm. exhaust is 0.2-0.3.

just ive always heard loose is better than tight.. and but brand new cams need to be "work hardened" or whatever.. wondering if running them slightly loose will adversely affect this process?

    its a 16v 4age.

yeah, this was a kinda JIC question. i was pretty sure i could order the right size ones and have them here over night. which turned out to be the case, will be here tomorrow. so should be all good.
