always a good idea to allow oil to get around before first start of anything...
i don't know how long you would need to crank... long enough for oil to come back from the drain....
alternatively, you could get a disliked relative to hold the turbines still while you start the car
or..if you had a big arsed syringe (50ml?100ml?) from a chemist, you could squirt oil into the feed (jam it up against the fitting to seal) before hooking up the banjo, and that will prolly be ok if you keep it at idle till you build up oil pressure...
