Sillycar yep I thought that it would be those dimensions, that's what would fit my car when I had a look behind the bumper, so why does it bother you if I get the same one as you?

    Yes I am Serious.

And no there actually about $200 since I asked yesterday, as I'm not in Adelaide so delivery is more. Yes you do have an option to get a Bar and Plate or Tube and Fin. The Tube and Fin and Bar and Plate models that have the same dimensions are nearly the same price so that's why I ask.

Seriously, if you cant help, don't post.

ive got a stock 1ggte intercooler behind my 4agte ae86 t28 turbo running 11psi ..It seems to be struggling abit on hot days as the inlet is creeping in temps.. So il say if a turboed 1.6litre inlet temps are going up , ill recommend upgrade time

    Hi,

I've decided to get a 550 x 180 x 65 Intercooler with 2.25" Inlet and outlet. I chose to get a Bar and Plate for better cooling, as I wont have a lot of air flowing over the cooler behind the front bar.

    Could some one please confirm if a 600mm X 300mm X 76mm will fit easily or would a 450 x 300 x 76mm or even an even smaller 550mm X 180mm X 65mm be a better fit?

In either case, what other modifications were nessesary to install?

    To clarify i have a Z20

Noob questions i know so thanks for your help!

I've had the car 2 years now...about time i did something i think!

    My previous GZ20 had a 600 x 300 x 76.

Front bar has to come off, you have to cut some plastic covers off and get custom piping. Then you'll have to cut the front bar to get sufficient airflow over the cooler that has a large surface area. If you have 3" Inlets which most 600 x 300's have, the pipes may push out on the front bar a bit, this is what happened on my previous soarer, the front bar still fit back on though. The power steering tubes near the front grille will get in the way too.

I'd say get a 550 x 180 x 65 with 2.5" Inlets and Outlets, Easier to install. Probably wouldn't need anything larger unless your chasing big power.

    Definately not chasing big power!

Just considering getting 2 new KKR turbo's and a new intercooler. Won't be running big boost either, wont touch 13.

You reckon? that intercooler would flow about the same if not less than the stocker. 160rwkw or more would result in a decent pressure drop thru it.

450x300x76 would be fine. tube and fin would be better for hotter climates as it lets the air pass thru the core easier, but either one will still work.
