I've seen them either under the stereo in the centre console, or the left hand kick panel area.
Help required on locating the fuel pump relay and resistor on a Cressida (89). I need to tell my dad where to find it so he can swap it with another one and fault find the problem with the car not starting sometimes when hot.
A picture / diagram would be perfect but descriptions are highly welcomed.
If anyone knows where they are on other Toyota's maybe you could indicate that for future reference and possible similarities.
thanks in advance.

Resistor is under the bonnet on the drivers side on the front of the shock tower. Relay is behind the passenger side kick panel

Apparently there are two relays in the passenger kick panel and I can confirm one is the open circuit relay. The fuel pump relay is on the drivers side and is the one closest to the front, it has a rubber cover over it and can be removed without removing the plastic panel.
In the check connector there is a connection called FP and this wire is connected to the pump, bypassing the relay (the pump will run without the relay fitted if power is applied here) and the resistor.
Since the pump will not start again once the car has been driven and warmed up it seems quite likely that the resistor under the bonnet is faulting with the temp change. Hopefully this fixes it and dads faith is restored in Toyotas.
I will update if the problem has been sorted.
