    Default Ebay HID kits

Has anyone got any advice/experience? There seems to be a plethora of cheap HID kits around, anyone had any experience with them? Recommendations for brands?

They aren't in Australia. If you're buying HID's, buy the cheapest ones shipped from Australia you can. I know people who have had warranty issues with overseas sellers, I had to get a ballast replaced from an Australian seller and it was no hassle whatsoever.
Regard them as disposable, rather than fixable.
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.

I also had a set (h4 high and low beam) in a merc I had. They were excellent.

Re legalities, have a read through this:

It's probably not worth the bother getting them passed and unless you were pulled over and hit on some other defect during which they noticed them, you'd likely get away with them forever. Your choice of course.

I ran them for 2 or 3 years and then sold the car. Keep them sensibly aligned and you shouldn't attract any problems.

The quality of some of the Chinese ones is really very good with heat resistant silicon insulated wiring and good quality sealed plugs quite common.
Do the Australian shipped thing as mentioned.
