Default R32 nissan callipers under 15 inch wheels?

What am i best doing . I want to keep my 15x6 MZ10 wheels, and try to fit some nissan 4 spot callipers . I heard the R32 callipers will be tight and wont fit with certain offset wheels. I know depending on the disk setup i could move the callipers inboard a little as well.
Im trying to avoid buying callipers and then shelving them when they wont fit.

there are measurements in the brake caliper thread. that should help to see.
not so many 15" rims have spokes that will accomodate the calipers.. but you might be lucky

It's possible, but not garaunteed. Can you post a pic of the rear of your wheels to give an idea of the clearance between the mounting face and the back of the spokes?

Interestingly enough, playing with this setup with a friend's wheels, the R32 calipers scraped his 15 by 8 superlights, but R33 calipers didn't because their mounting tabs are slightly longer and pushed the caliper 8mm away from the hub, which improved spoke clearance.

You may be best tracking down someone with some calipers in the shed that you can have an experiment with.

The rims I had on my MR2 (not sure of the brand) cleared them *just" with standard size R32 rotors, there was about 10-15mm clearance between the outside of the calliper and the inside of the rim...

Those wheels specifically won't fit sorry mate, I know because we've tried them. You need something with more caliper space. This was with the standard floating Nissan setup, 280mm Skyline rotors on a Mk2 Supra.

I guess i will try some first , the MZ10 wheels do have chunky spokes .
Maybe JZA80 or PBR twin piston floating callipers will be a better idea as ive lived with the standard 266 mm disks and sumitomo twin piston callipers for the last 15 years.

I did have other 15's which cleared fine, it was just the design of those wheels. It's worth it for the stopping power.

JZA80 NA calipers have a different mounting-bolt pattern compared to the skyline. Some bracketry would be required compared to the Skyline units bolting up to MA61/RA65/etc. struts

how much further in would the disk/caliper need to be to clear tho? if you have freedom of disc, it could help?

If I was going to upgrade brakes and keep the Soarer rims I'd either:

    A) use a rear mount disc or a disc with a large hat height to push the 4spot caliper further inboard.
    or
    B) Use the 280x18?mm (could be 22mm thick) single spot S13 SR20DET discs/calipers. Will give a serious upgrade over standard, and should fit under the rims with zero issues.

I was looking at similar issues for my Starlet with TA63 front suspension. No further than planning stages yet, but was looking at AUII Falcon rotors machined down from 287mm to 280mm to fit the R32 caliper. This doesn't require the spacer that the Skyline disc does so will sit caliper 10mm further in due to the bigger hat height of the Falcon rotor.
Given the info above that the R33 caliper and BA Falcon disc may fit in 15's, that would be my preferred option now as you still get the 10mm inboard disc movement and end up with a larger diameter off the shelf rotor. Only question mark is if it will fit in the 15's.

It won't fit inside the majority of 15's, but there will be some out there that it will.

From memory GT has 310mm rotors under his 15's.

I know the MX73 rim would fit maybe a 286-290mm disc with the Nissan calipers. No more without going to a lower profile caliper.
