Vic bushfires fundraiser cruise/event...

Hi Guys,

There has been some talk of a fundraiser cruise or event, to make a donation to help out the people most affected by the recent bushfires. I like the Coburg drive-in idea suggested by Ian. We should pick a point to meet up, then cruise to the drive-in, maybe we could do a picnic dinner prior, so money normally spent on potentially expensive meals can go into the donation tin. All amkes and models welcome! I will notify the drive-in of this idea if gathers enough interest and see if I can get profit from ticket sales from our members donated also. I will get some stickers made up for the event too. Thinking in the next two weeks...

eddie how about you do repeat performance of the trivia night at the drive in, i would happily pay to see that again, and now that i have mentioned it what about another trivia night for raising some cash that was great night had by all, what about an auction of anything we can have donated we all know someone

Yeah, that could be good! I'm sure we all have something good in the garage/around the place that we would part with for charity.

Hi guys. Great idea, I put for the Auction 1 free drawing of a members car and we should see if we can get some t shirts done for it and some of the proceeds go to the appeal.

Hey Paul,

Nice idea - If you knock up a design for the celica club t-shirts, we can sell them for $25-$30ea and donate all the proceeds. I can get some t-shirts and stickers done in the next two weeks. We could still do the drive-in on Saturday 21st or Sunday 22nd and people could pick them up then. (We could still advertise and sell them online of course)

Ok, theres a few things as well as donating we can do.

The CFA has created a volunteer hotline for those able and interested in helping to fight fires on 1300 366 356.

Once i get the OK from the wife (Who is very scared hence why i need her ok) ill be heading out to lend a hand

Most employers will be ok if you take a day to assist.

Also there will be future requirements for volunteers to assist with the clean up over the next few weeks as well as help needed for rebuilding. These communities are going to need anyone who can lend a hand for long time yet. If anyone finds info about how to lend future assistance than please post it here.

i know you guys are already organising something but how about this for an idea.
A charity fun run with our cars loaded with unwanted clothing bedding and food and (torches and workwear)
this is what my mate told me they are mainly screaming out for

and driving to the areas and dropping them off?

i like the idea of a cruise and personaly delivering to the whittlesee camp but either way i will follow any celica train
