Default G series trans to W series swap

    Hi
Im thinking of putting a w57/58 trans in my work 2wd hilux
It still runs a 22r and a G52 box at the moment
Does anyone know if its a straight swap as i remember hearing somewhere im just looking to get rid of the poxy ratios to make it more car like to drive as i dont carry heavy loads and im looking to ditch the useless first gear.

    thanks

in theory they've got the same bolt pattern on the front of the gearbox.

you may find your speedo is out of wack if the W-box has different speedo gears compared to the G52.

No biggie to do the swap, it's a bolt in. Just make sure, like Chuck suggested, that the speedo gear is the correct one for your final drive ratio.
