Default 1GGTE HKS VPC GCC ??? Identification

I have a VPC GCC HKS controller, I have a few questions as to what is what?

    1. Why do I have two pressure sensors? same part numbers - is one for the GCC and one for the VPC - do i mount them both in the HKS Pipe or can i just use one and splice the wiring in for the other? the small probe just gets tapped into the hks pipe ( it's for temp right?)

    2. `This will remove the old flap type AFM - why does the loom have an AFM plug on it?

    3. I have never played with one of these before but can i adjust the fuel ratio at specific RPM;s with the GCC - what is a safe setting to have it on to start with?

    4. The VPC has four controls on what would a safe / normal position to initially set it up on

    5. the (grey) ECU plug has resistors on it and as i run a gen 1 i cannot use it, is it as simple as splicing the resistors into the same wires in my ecu / loom.

    Thanks Rosie.

    1. gcc and vpc can be run separately so you dont need one or the other to run the car. Setup the vpc and should only be one plug from the gcc to the vpc. so only 1 temp sensor and 1 pressure sensor. the small probe is to tap into the inlet manifold or as close to it as you can get it.

    2. yes it gets rid of the afm but you need one wire for fuel from the afm wiring

    3. yes you can change the fuel mixtures are the certain rpms it has displayed. safe setting it what it says when you get it on a dyno and get it tuned dont do it yourself ive left mine on normal until i get it on a dyno.

    4. 1st is for fuel on throttle responce, 2nd 5% increase over the rpm range, 3rd is fuel on idle, 4th is for tuning with external computer eg gcc and fcon. i believe its only for the f-con but could be wrong.

    5. my gen2 has no resistors and runs fine. cant give you any better info on this.

if you get some better pics i can tell you were some wires go as i have a gcc and vpc in my gen2 supra put all mine is hard wired. if you need any help just let us know

I tidied the loom up today and think i have it sorted ( colours listed are from VPC)

Green wire - from VPC to AFM (turns fuel pump on)

Black - Earth - ( Do i connect to AFM earth?)

Brown - to FCON ( been told not to connect - think it may be connected to FCON inside the loom)

    RED - B+ ( I assume any battery +ve will do?)

Yellow - to AFM (connects to 'greeny blueish' wire with red dots and black stripes 2nd in?)

I'm thinking it best that i use the resistor pack - connected between +ve and earth of AFM at the cpu plug? I have read some where that u cut wires from the CPU so it no longer recieves a signal?

The Air pressure sensor gets plummed into the intake mani after the TB / same as temp probe?

I have also found the following and think it is why i am a little confused.

    http://oldschool.supracentral.com/htm/fcon.htm

    http://oldschool.supracentral.com/htm/hardwire.htm

the link above states this just after the pics of the resistors-
    Note #3: Wires at Pinout #4 [Red/Black stripe], & pinout #5 [Light Green] are cut;
IE, they no longer provide signal to the ECU. Be sure to leave sufficient
excess on the connector side to enable wiring in of the resistors.
According to my diagrams that would mean the Turbo Indicator light and the 'PM' whatever that is.

i can supply better pics if u Pm me you email addy.

    Cheers Rosie.

Thumbs up Re: 1GGTE HKS VPC GCC ??? Identification

Hey mate, well i bought this HKS thingy a while ago, and thought id wack it and and compare the dyno results from stock to this i mean its free hey, and keeps this one interesting while i build up the other engine.

was reading your forsale thread just before - i probably change my mind 6 or seven times a day with where i want to go with this, but thats cars.
