    Default 1j engine mounts

does anyone know where i can get some engine mounts to suit a jza70?

would like some that are much stiffer. also are they the same as other 1j powered cars
or even 7m powered supra and cressida.

    any info will help.

    thanks
    pete

    you have a few options...

you can buy new oem ones
you can have new ones made from your old ones (polyurethane)
you can buy taiwanese ones made by kazaa or something
you can contact 'byteme' on these forums and see if he has any custom ones left.
you can check RHD Japan or greenline or nengun for other aftermarket ones.
you can use MX83 (iirc) mounts which are not stiffer and need some minor modification otherwise they do fit.

i used noltec ls1 mounts for my cressida/2jz

were a bit pricey but definately stronger.

check my members rides thread for the part number (will save you money as they ask for your stock monts to 'copy' them, then sell you off the shelf ls1 mounts + $80 manufacturing fee)

just needed 5 mints of filing to get them to fit

i contacted a local noltec dealer and they supposedly dont make engine mounts anymore.
    thanks anyway.

will most likely buy standard ones and add spacers as the reason i need them is because my engine is rocking too much and my sump is hitting the crossmember.

yes they allways seemed at big dodgey whenever i dealt with them, but toymods members got a discount (which only slightly offsets the amount you get ripped off by them)

i found some titan motorsports mounts which are copies of the trd ones but at $600 there out of my price range.

still waiting on a reply from 'byteme' but not holding my breath as he made them years ago.

toyota sell standard ones at $200 but ill give it a few weeks to find better ones before i order them.
