Out of curiosity why do you need a 60mm gate, are you running a extremely small Turbine housing?

    Hi Strad -

The biggest problem with the cheap gates is the variable quality. By that I mean that for the same model of gate, from one to the next the clearances can change, materials change etc etc. The result is that you can get a good one, or a bad one, hence the fact that you'll hear some people say they have had no problems, and some people have endless issues. (same goes for the chinese turbos). Consistent quality standards in manufacturing processes cost money - and this is ensured by operator standards, good quality machines, maintenance programs to keep the plant in spec etc etc. These are the main reasons the chinese products are so cheap.

When you buy a 'brand name' gate, you generally get something with much better quality - but hence you pay for it.

If the KKR units have gained a good rep (and have a PROPER returns policy) I'd go for one, but that woud be the only type apart from Turbosmart, Tial, HKS, Turbonetics, Sard, Synapse + JGS (piston types).

You can use two smaller gates, but you need something like twin 44s before they have the same area as a 60.

How much power are you planning to make? (do you actually need a 60mm gate? Maybe a 50 will be big enough?)
