Default Rally of Canberra, 7 & 8 March

Anyone coming out for a sticky?
I'll be down servicing for the Cullens in the dark green Excel (the spoonter got sold late last year )

Come say g'day as I'll be bored witless otherwise. I'm aiming to get upto some of the stages for a bit of spectator action.

It's not a round of the Asia Pacific championship anymore, that's gone to Rally Qld in May, so there's probably a lot less money to throw around for advertising.
And seeing as they don't run the Mineshaft anymore (it's too dangerous apparently ), there's not really any other really good spots to see some carnage, I mean, action.

I didn't know either. I'm heading down for my Dads birthday but probably won't be able to get out and see anything

I'll be there, servicing for Mark Sessions (car 52, silver EVO), call past and say hi if you're bored.

Yes, I was extremely bored. I didn't have access to the computer after 5pm Friday so I didn't see this, otherwise would've popped over.

What the hell was with that service park!!!!!
We had the car fall off the trolley jack once trying to get the chassis stands under it. After that, we jacked the rear up individually from each side.

I thought I was at some clubman event in backwards hicksville, not ROC

I've serviced in much worse places than that.

I managed to get stung by a European wasp in there as well, those bastards hurt!! I've never seen so many of the things before..

Funniest bit of the rally had to be when he came in at the end of the first stage on Sunday saying the brakes are a bit dodgy and we found one of the front pads down to metal! I had a look at them on Saturday and they were fine - that lad is hard on his brakes...

So have I, but also there are better places in Canberra too.

It's a race car, what do you expect I think rally cars cop more abuse in this regard, because there's not a cyclic, repeated pattern for the running gear to sustain a constant(ish) level of temperature.

Didn't make it out to the service park, but spent Saturday at the Kowen stage with Bevan, severely disappointing spectator response but I guess that's what happens without major sponsor/government support and lack of marketing. I'd guess less than 100 spectators in total, in an area that should hold 500+ easy.

Hopefully not a true reflection of support for the event.....

Did see some pretty funny behaviour from a particular marshall though

    Cheers

Yeah - I'm used to servicing for a different driver, very similar car but very different driving style..
