Default Ebay W-Series short shifter - Good or not?

Im in need of a shifter for my newly acquired w58, may as well get a short shifter.
This is avaiable on ebay, has anyone used this specific one or reccomend where I can get one from?

another question, below is my w58 which obviously needs the shifter, but a slave cylinder also. will one fit from any W-seriees box?

Both IN05NT and I have that exact short shifter and like it. I haven't driven much with it yet but it feels nice

Not sure as to the answer to your second question. If I was to take a guess I'd say the w55/57/58 slaves should all fit.

Thanks mate, i was assuming the same as well.

Im also assuming that the w58 wont bolt up to the stock w50 position and will need a custom member?

I take it this is a ra23/28 we are talking about. If so then no, you'll have to modify/extend the mounting points.

I'm not familiar with the j160 but depends on how it mounts to the crossmember and how far back. If your lucky maybe its only a couple of holes to redrill in your current crossy.

I had one of those shifters VERY briefly in the MA61. In that car the position was too far forward for my liking (not bent like the stock MA61 shifter is) and for a daily driver I didn't like it. Yes it's great if you're driving the pants off the car but when you're trying to drive normally I found it to be a little annoying so didn't stick with it. Mind you this was only about 30 mins of use before I took it out. Personal preference

    u still got it?
The j160 is way back in the tranny tunnel so any thing which brings it forward is good. the w58 should move it forward abit also, so the two together could be the way to go.
