    Default Breather for 18RC

    hi guys,

I changed the oil in the 28 on the weekend...
Once i finished i cranked over the engine and when i pulled
out the dipstick air came out of the sump...

Someone tells me that i need a breather....

    Is this true...

The 18RG has a breather which mounts in between the oil filter and fuel pump if you're looking for one...

and pressure in the crankcase suggests the PCV valve is not working or not connected.

    chucky is on the money,
the PCV is located on the passenger side of the rocker cover, near the front just behind the thermostat housing. There should be a hose from that going into the air filter housing. make sure nothing there is blocked, that should stop the crankcase from pressurising. The 18RGs had a second vent in the block because the higher RPMs would cause problems with the ventillation.

Whats that got to do with the price of hookers in Kings Cross??

The 18RG block breather fits into the 18RC. Trying to find one is a different story tho. Either way, check the PCV, as I described above.
