    Default AE86 radiator

    hey guys
well im in need of a new radiator and im on a budget here. Sice im getting one
I might as well go something bigger which will come in handy later in the future
    when drifting etc..
Wondering if there are any alternate radiator that I can use.
I heard people using toyota camry ones but wasnt sure which model.
    If anyones knows, thanks.
Also if it is a direct bolt on as well, cause im looking for a clean finish.

If you are one of the few lucky enough to have a radiator with metal tanks, you van have your existing one twin-cored, Rex had this exact procedure done by Steve at Prospect Radiators in SA.

For $230 is was came back basically like a brand new stock AE86 radiator, but twice as thick (approx 25mm), both good things. No screwing around with mounts/outlets and none of the nastiness that comes with some aluminium radiators.

i got an ae86 radiator out of the auto models, twin core metal tanks and has fittings for oil cooler down the bottom. hard to find tho.
just get anything that is big and will fit, then make brackets its very easy to do. we have a TR magna rad in the ae71 drifter, half the fins are missing yet it never even looks like getting hot, havent had to switch on the thermo fan once.

a hyndai excel one indeed does fit, works amazingly well and is very cheap usually, check out my worklog link in my sig for how to do it.

yeah some people use X2 excel radiators, dunno why they are shit. well maybe they can cope with a standard 4age but dont seem to handle boosted engines from friends experiences. id personally rather a narrower twin or tripple core radiator than a slightly larger single core.

my excell radiator works great, I dont even run a fan on it and I have had it sitting in traffic on hot days without a problem. I also like it because it's so light being of aluminium construction.
