Default SW20 Chewing Through Rear Tyres through NORMAL Driving

Have a bit of a problem with the SW20 at the moment.

Had a set of brand new Maxxis MAZ1's on a 9" Rim at the rear that just got eaten completely within 6 months. On both rears its the Inner track that gets worn down completely to the belts, however its the passenger side one that always blows out first and has the worse wear.

Replaced those after the first blowout with another set of Goodyears that had about 50% tread left on them, once again the treadwear has gone right down to the belts and the left one has blown out again.. in less than a month since the last one!

Now this is where my question lies...

SW20 rear camber is dictated how? I think the rear is still a Macpherson strut so does that mean I need to get camber tops to fix this..? I know front is cambertop adjusted. I'm quite sure too much negative rear camber is whats causing the inner track to wear as quickly as it is... but. that leads to the question, why is it the left one thats wearing down far quicker than the right?

Yes SW20 is strutt rear suspension.
Maybe they have factory camber adjusters like the AW11's had, maybe they don't. Try taking a wheel off for a looksee.
Incorrect toe angles thrash tyres pretty dam fast. Get your car checked by a wheel aligner.
My AW11 is pretty hard on it's rear tyres because the aftermarket shocks (from Whiteline) have a shorter overall length and so the reduced drop travel of the rear suspension causes it to slightly unload the outside rear tyre around town, especially the left 1.

    as plonka wrote,
drive into a large tyre retailer get a 4 wheel alignment readout and post the specs.another sw20 owner may be able to compare thier spces to yours..
is your sw20 lowered to the max by any chance, cos thatl alter geometric angles especially camber..

take it to a tyre shop that you trust and get them to set up any adjustable toe, camber and castor to factory settings - but to note down the existing setup prior to any changes.

If you don't install urethane bushes correctly (ie, with the correct grease etc) you can flog them out in a matter of weeks EASY.

I bought a car which just had brand new bushes put on the rear swing arms, and 2000km's later they were bin material.

Also, why not go get an alignment? They'll be able to check everything.
