NSW Supra Club Dyno Day @ GAS Motorsport - 1st March 2009 - Now with pics!

Hi Guys & Gals,


With the increasing number of Supras be it MA6X, MA7X, JZA70, or JZA80s on here I've been asked by the NSW Supra Club to put this event up here. As you can see the location, sponsors and prizes are impressive to say the least, I'm personally really looking forward to it.

It's in March, so plenty of distance from the official Toymods Dyno Day which is coming up on the 18th, so plenty of time to mod your car inbetween the events

You don't need to be a member to attend, but dyno runs do cost if you arn't a member.

Date: Sunday 1st March 2009

NSW SUPRA CLUB is proud to present our dyno day to be held at Gas motorsport, open to everyone that owns a supra! (supras only)

The day will kick off at 8:00am, so for all you big guns that want nice and cool temperatures, get in early, as you will have to get in line to get on the Dyno. But if your not too concernd about temperatures and just want to get a run on the dyno and see what power your mighty supra puts out then you are welcome to come at anytime, but i know im going to be there all day to see how everyones car goes.


There will be different catorgries for the dyno runs and prizes for each.

-Highest Twin Turbo mkiv supra
-Highest Single Turbo mkiv supra
-Highest NA mkiv supra
-Highest mkiii supra
-Highest Overall supra of the day
-Best looking engine bay
-Best looking supra of the day
-Encouragement award

Gas motorsport will supply lunch and soft drinks (barbeque) free for club members….. non members $15.00.

Gas motorsport will have free drinks available during the day.

Gas motorsport will supply the dyno with print out free for all club members…..non members $50.00.

GAS MOTORSPORTS DO NOT ALLOW NITREOUS ON ANY DYNO RUNS . IT MUST BE DISCONNECTED PRIOR TO RUN.

Gas motorsport will supply CASH prize money for the day ,best engine bay, power output ,best looking etc. Judged by the guys from gas motorsport.

Gas motorsport will supply some GFB ,GCG and Gas products as prizes.. gas aluminium coil cover, gfb b/off valve, GCG turbo blanket.

Also they will supply some Titan and Gas t shirts , Gas hats and other items as prizes.

Joe , Dave ,Leon and Rob from Gas motorsport will be available for any advice during the day.

Gas motorsport will open there race workshop for the day ,people will be able to see there engine dyno room, machine room and engine building room.

In this workshop visitors will be able to see there new Solara race car, Copper celica , black Supra and Nissan r34.

They will also have a number of cars currently being built.

Gas motorsport will run the Supra and R34 on the dyno during the lunch break.( this im looking forward to seeing a supra pull over 1400hp on the dyno!)

They will also have the 2 Gas drag cars and other gas cars there on display for you to see, sit in and take photos off. (Once in a life time opertunity).
This is a must do this year, so put it on your calender NOW and dont forget, or you will be missing a once in a lifetime opportunity to see all this in 1 day!!

Might be interested in this since im not going to be able to make the Toymods Dyno Day. When would you want to give a definite as im sure you dont want to tell them that 50 people may come for a run?

We've got 40 something cars at the moment, plus some spectators and magazine coverage for it.

Not sure on dates when you need to give rough attendance by, more info here

you can go for a look, but the dyno comp is for supras only.

Probably won't bother running on the dyno, not much point when single turbo JZA80s are a dime a dozen, most making more power than mine

Hi nath, yes i am deffinetly going to this, i was going to the last toymods dyno day, but as always something else come up.
I was at gas on the weekend and they already have 50 cars on the list for the dyno, so if anyone else comes they will only be spectating, so dont come and get dissapointed if cannot run your car, maybe gas will have more dyno days if this one tuns out to be a good day.
It is also going to be a very long day as with 50 cars to run it will be from 8 in the morn untill about 8 or so at night.

Hey ladies & gents, this is next weekend(Sunday) so make sure you get along to this event, even just to watch, should be some pretty special numbers getting pulled, a few Soups are in the 1000HP+ bracket this time around.

Should be some good press at this as well, the board of the Supra club has pulled out all the stops for this one so don't miss it!

Hey All,

Well it was an amazing day out, except that I wound up getting up at 5:45am

GAS Motorsport really outdid themselves and put on an absolutely amazing day for us. They had their transport trucks out, every entrant got a goodie bag that actually included some awesome stuff.

I got in mine

- JZA80 T-Shirt with 2JZ-GTE engine on the back
- Wurth bottle opener
- GAS Writing pads, pens
- Stickers
- Some chocolates

Ontop of all of that there was free food, and drinks all day long.

Then ontop of that if you were a member you got 3 free power runs on a dyno.

It was awesome, although I'm slightly puzzled about my result as the performance gremlins stole quite abit of my power since my last dyno run :| I'm going to get that looked into this week...

They also had their 2 Supra Drag cars, R34 drag car, Celica Drag Car & Solara drag car all on display. The 2 Supras ran on the Dyno. They also ran their engine dyno, had a 2J powered speed boat. Seriously it was impressive.

Ontop of that we had about 50-60 Supras out on display with about 35 of them running on the dyno.

So a HUGE thanks to Joe & all the GAS staff for getting up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday for us all and putting on such a fantastic day.

I'm not sure if it's possible but I'd like to see this as an annual event.

Cheers to Hally & the board of the NSW Supra Club for putting in all the work to organise this with GAS also.
