    Default Wiring question

MZ21 in car TV works on when placed in accessories and not on ignition.

I take it the control unit has a switch built into it and was wondering if there was a nice little bypass for it, so it can always operate regardless of key position.

I ask this as im looking to run my HKS CAMP data unit off the TV but that doesn't help me if i can't see the screen when driving.

Here is a schematic i found.

does the navigation work with IGN on? but TV does not?
my TV def works, but would be a later system..

you could try disconnecting B14, where IGN goes to the konpyuta

then again, thats one fecked up diagram i'm afraid to try and change my stereo now

Here is what i have come up with after looking at the way the newer model soarers do it.

Ground the park brake switch (PKB) : Cut wire (A11) and send it to ground, bypassing switch.

Speed switch (SP) : Cut and tape up wire before switch.(A3)

Neutral Start Switch (NS) : needs to be connected to ignition.

Need to have some guidance on the NSS wiring around the switch itself.

That sounds pretty right, like it would get a signal when e-brake is on, and when your going, i spose you could just wire it up same sorta way as a stereo like from scratch and just use your acc signal to trigger a relay and then run it from a constant + wire. Its prob a bit more work than the approach your taking but its another option should all else fail.

Holy crap that thing is integrated into everything!
Theres probably another 20kg of wiring and junk you could remove from the Soarer if you wanted!

Will print that diagram off and see if I can work it all out.

I Dunno about the necessity to do anything with the neutral start switch.

The NSS is basically a switch in the auto box that only connects when you are in park or Neutral..... it carries the power for the starter motor, so that if you are in drive, the switch is open and thus when you turn the key to START, no power goes through to your starter motor.

What relevance this has to the operation of the TV - i dont know. I've wired up your car so that the NSS is constantly closed anyway glen.... the two wires are farken soldered together!!
    ...... butt scratcher?!

Looking at the diagram I think the modules are as follows:
Module on LHS - Body Control Module.
Module in the top middle position - Tuner / Input Select.
Module in middle - TV Unit... it is this unit that needs to be messed with.

You say the TV works when the car is on accessories but not ignition, if so why would they bother checking the speed sensor, park brake or NSS... I think this is all part of the BCM and not directly related to the TV.
I think it's either the CRT/OFF (A4) or CPU/TV (A13) wires you need to play with.

The TV displays the readout for the climate control etc doesn't it???
If so it's probably the CRT/OFF (A4) wire you need to mess with as the CPU/TV wire is probably to select whether it displays the climate control info or the TV.
