Default best way to y piece 2 fuel pumps??

ok guys im putting a fuel system in my car
i got a sard intank pump pumping fuel to the surge tank which will then feed into 2 x bosch 044s.
now wat is the best way to run the 2 pumps. y piece them into one line?
because you can get these converters

but it is 2x -8 fittings which lead into 1 -8.
now because that new line isnt bigger isnt that conflicting the point of running 2 pumps? or will it still run alot better
    im aiming for about 550hp

-8 is farking huge for a fuel line mate so no a Y-piece like the one pictured won't compromise anything I run a very similar set up on the GT8....6 years now with no issues

You can also get one of these:

The -8 will flow far more than the pump.

can i ask what amount of boost and power is needed for this amount of fuel?.. or are you just being safe with your fuel supply?..

ive always wondered when this great setup is ACTUALLY necessary

The need varies significantly dependent on fuel needs, boost and fuel type so it's quite specific to each individual setup.

There are some general estimations of what hp a 044 will support but better info on their flow rate at certain line pressures is out there.

pandaah - 550hp as stated in the first post.

so ; if i read right, 2 feeds from the surge tank to each of the 044's - then from the 044's into a Y piece then via -8 to your rail? is that right?

Q : will your sard in tank lift pump be enough to fill the surge tank to supply both 044's?

-8 seems awefully big as Justin stated for fuel. you sure you need this amount of flow or are the 044's just going be throwing it back down the return line (thus warming the fuel via the engine) and actually not helping?

What is the size difference between the fuel line and the -8 fitting?

Lift pump should be fine as it's free flow so any half decent EFI pump will likely keep up.

My setup is: the stock GT4 in-tank pump as lift pump > 3ish litre surge tank > dual -10 lines gravity fed to X2 019 external Bosch pumps > Y-peice > -8 braided line to fuel rail splitter. Return line to surge tank.

Warm fuel is a non issue as long as it doesn't boil....which mine never has?

im only running 15 psi at the moment. ive tried winding more boost into it but im not getting enough fuel pressure etc so thats why im doing this system
im hoping to run between 20-25 psi so this setup will suit the job fine and i dont think it wil be very over kill because the power im expecting is around the limit of one pump so 2 pumps will be safe

    It's a nice looking bit.
I would buy it if I was running twin pumps.
