Whether the engine is worth it is up to you.
No you can't swap "bell housings" from an S54 to an E51..
I wouldn't contemplate doing the conversion without an SW20 half cut unless the engine was free.
Just working out parts and stuff for my AW11 3S-GTE conversion, there's a motor in Adelaide, last of the Gen2s, 110-kms, hiflow turbo, chipped ECU and maybe some other fruit. $2400, no box.
First question: Is this worth it?
2nd question: If i get a 3S NA box, can I strip it and apply the bellhousing to my GZE e-series box?
Guys...I'm getting serious about this, someone should talk me out of it...
RM.

Yeah, fair enough. I've heard different reports about that from different people. I think a halfcut is the best bet, but it's a problem over here because the freight difference is about $500 between an engine package and a front cut. Still, that was a pricey engine. Might shop around, as the ToyMods sponsors

Ask CLG, he probably has a half cut sitting around in his garage as a spare... or knows someone who's sisters cousins boyfriend has one lying around.
CLG? Who is he and how do I get in touch?
Cheers, RM.
