    so have you changed any pins in relation to this? (i only put the question mark beside the top 2 cause i cant remember whether they were the other way around.)

    if so, and it still goes to hot, have you tried running a makeshift wire from the second one,(the sensor) straight to the white plug the in the loom for the dash? could be that the sender wire might be earthing out somewhere,(might be cut/split) if its touching ground where it shouldnt, it will go hot instantly....

    I have run the a new wire to the sender from the back of the plug that goes in in that picture. The signal wire I used was the left most wire. I used this because when I eathed it out the gauge went to hot instantly.

    Lexsmaz the gauge goes to hot as soon as the ignition is turned to on even if the car is stone cold. And yes as soon as the sender wire is disconnected it drops straight to cold.

    Have you hooked the earth up? (the gauge has its own earth, directly on the engine)...

    So earth the bottom pin and it should go to correct reading possibly? I'll give it a try. I'll try anything.

    If it's not connected you won't get correct operation. It's there to increase the accuracy of the gauge by not having any other currents running through the same ground.
