Default 18RG Pacemaker Headers - No good for RA23?

    Hey Toymob.

So today was the day I got the 18RG back into the Celica. Super happy. Lots cheer etc. However when I went to mock up the headers they don't come close to fitting without fouling on the passenger footwell.

What I'm hoping is, that some of you older fellas may remember what the Pacemaker 18RG headers actually were suited to? Because they've been discontinued for so long I can't seem to find any information on them, the best I can find is that they have fitted in Javals XT130 - which is a car that the 18RG never sold in here in Aus, which is no help. Maybe RA40 or RA63 they could have been made for? Being Pacemaker they would have had to have been an Australian market car.

It has me baffled, and a little annoyed as I've blasted and ceramic coated them and it's just a shame to cut them up. If I can work out what they're from I can move them on and hopefully fund a set of Hurricane headers instead. (& repeat process )

    All help appreciated.

Wow, it looks like someone welded the Tri-Y headers incorrectly

    Ha, good spot. Maybe has something to do with the length between merges? It would have the same effect, instead of being 1 & 3 + 4 & 2, it's 4 & 1 + 2 & 3. I think...

No biggy, I have listed these up for sale. I think they're to suit RA40s & RA63s. But that's my best guess.

Edit: It appears Hurricane headers do the same thing for 18RG headers.

I did notice what appears to be a bit of a patch job with the secondaries. Never really been a fan of Pacemakers. Really considering making my own.

The secondary pipes have been altered for some reason at the mergers.
They are in correct order of merging, always connect opposite firing cylinders together. 1 to 4, 2 to3. Unless firing order is different to what I know which is 1,3,4,2.
