Default Volvo diff into Celica - places in brisbane?

Hi all, i'm going to do the Volvo diff into my TA22 and was just wondering if anyone knew anyone in Brisbane (pref southside) to do the conversion? I've rang up some places and they all say that they dont do conversions. Also i've got 16x7" rims with +35mm offset with 195's to go on the back, will i come into any trouble with it rubbing up on the guards or anything? The diff that i'm thinking of getting i've been told that its been shortened just a little bit, if its been shortened too much is there anything i can do about it? It was apparently set up for a P1800 volvo or something like that. It comes with LSD, new brakes ect

I've also got the same rims/tyres for the front and was just wondering if anyone knows if i'll have any problems up front. I've got an rx7 brake upgrade kit for the front which is going on early next year and then the rims to go onto the front, with the diff to be put on at a later date if i can find someone to do it.

    Thanks for any infor

if its been shortened, thats sweet, more dish to fill the guards
when searching for someone to repair my alfa diff a couple of years ago in the yellow pages i cam across a bloke who does do the lot.
but the thing is, how much do you trust a diff shop to weld things on perfectly?
id be taking it to a well respected fabrication shop and getting them to do the work, no reason a diff shop needs to do anything to it until you break it

what about putting it all onto my car? or should i just get my mechanic to do it. I use APC in Underwood but they said that they wouldn't be able to get the diff shortened if needed as it would take too long for them to do.

Find out about anyone who does work with sprint cars or hot rods. They generally know the people to talk to since they just about all have shortened 9" diffs with custom everything...

well does the diff need shortening?
if it does, get it shortened by the diff shop.
then take it to the workshop you trust to put it in straight, and get them to do it.

It doesn't hurt to shorten the volvo diffs for the celicas. They are 1410 wide stock and the celicas are something like 1365 or 1370.

My flatmate and I have two volvo diffs down at a local diff shop getting converted. His is going into a ta22 and mine into an ra28. He is getting his shortened down to 1370, while I'm leaving mine as 1410. His reason being is that he is running konigs that are 7 inches with 0 offset. They rub on the guards with the stock diff. I'm running ROH wheels with something like a +35 offset. In addition My front track has also been increased by the ke70 crossmember I'm running. I'm running 225's on my rear and I'm expecting to have to roll my guards to stop the rubbage but no big deal.

There was a guy on the old forums Matt_84 who had a ovlov diff put into an RA28 - was done by some truck/machinery place out towards ipswich. Was fairly cheap as he did his whole car on a tight budget.

He's not on here anymore but he did pop up on performanceforums recently (he'd crossed to the dark side and bought a Golf).
