7pm may be a little late though for the motorkhana finish. I think it was dark by 6, but if the course is set up in the morning, and without scrutineering or a lunch break, that would shorten the time required a lot.
I think that considering the later start, the courses will both be setup in the morning long before anyone arrives, there is no lunch break, there will be more than one scrutineer, all paperwork will be completed long before the event starts, and we WILL be running two lanes at a time (read: estimate twice as many courses for competitors). Given all this, I believe we should easily be able to fit the khana into the allotted timeframe. One of the reasons for the cut-short run this year was that we had to pack up, collect all the timing information and compute the winners before the dinner started for awards, which put a time pressure on us.

Even without lights it will be doable, however, I will see if CAMS regulations will allow 'evening' running (can't see a reason why they wouldn't, but we have a whole year (almost) to organise it again.).
Also, given Easter is before the end of daylight savings next year, 7pm is the 'new' 6pm..

Besides inhaling poo-particles whilst pizza-facing everything was sweet.
Sure, we'll see if we can put them into your goody bags, might even try and get 'toynats 2010' Eau de nitrous ones....

Just a side note - TCCA and FFCC (ford four car club) are running a day/night motorkhana down here in May, so there should be a precedent for an evening event. Can let you know how it goes if you like - I know the plan is to use glow sticks on top of the cones etc to enhance visibility.

With all this chit chat about judging and prizes and all stuff, I don't even think my car was judged.......

But, all I can say is thank you to everyone that assisted me with my car on the way home, all of whom were from the Canberra Celica Group. If it wasn't for them I would have had my car on a tow truck from Wellington. Plus thanks to Sam and Kristel, for helping me out throughout the weekend, they did go out of their way to help an old brown fella out.

Also a big thanks to Andrew (the homo from Newcastle way) to help try and diagnose my clunking after the morning session of the motorkhana. If it wasn't for his recommendation of not continuing, then I probably would have done more damage to my car.

All I can say is next year will be better for me, it certainly couldn't be worse......

Well maybe you and Teon shouldn't have set up a 2 man car show on the side of the oval away from everyone else

So you're coming to Sydney & Newcastle as well then to fill in the rest of us? All I remember is being woken up every morning (too early) by your car cold idling at about eleventy billion rpms.

I forgot about the daylight savings making 6pm to 7pm. Should be all good then.
Just got to watch out for those cattle trucks wanting to load/unload. Any way to find out if they're wanting to come/go?

Also, Tom, the Friday night smell was to aclimitise(?) you to the cattle yard smell on Sunday

Awesome news on the return of Drag racing for the 2010 event schedule!! That just gets me 5 times more excited to come back!!

Whether or not i actually have a car to enter with is another thing entirely though. Maybe i'll just bodge up the 18RGTE into the RA28 and bring a whole spare diff or two....
