Wakefield Park Track Day - Monday 22 Dec

I think Shano might be too busy (ie: not at work where intahweb access and time flow in abundance ) with domestic responsibility (on holidays)..... haha

Day was awesome fun, despite being very hot, and everybody else having the same idea that it might be quiet just before christmas! 35 street cars, plus a dozen racecars signed up on the day, so sessions weren't all that long.

The green rocket proved yet again to be a super consistent & balanced package, with Shano posting some very nice times with the newfound power (step in here buddy!)..... Makes me green with envy and wonder why I went the lead-sled approach of dropping a big-six in the front of my rolla after having a nicely balanced 4AGTE package Can't have it all hey!

Marshalls were extremely relaxed on the day, almost anything went unnoticed, except for passengers, who now have to be CAMS level 3 licenced!

Might be able to get some gopro & camcorder footage up in the next couple of days. Unfortunately a smashed bug took a ride right in front of the lens for 2 of the sessions so it has a bit of a "soft focus" effect. Just the romance of Shane & his Corolla perhaps....

Ok im +1 ing to how it went

its 2:00pm on the next day. Shane should have been whoring up the forums by now. Unless he got fired for another day sick day off to go racing.

Track day was awesome fun as Phil said, so keen to go again now.

A little busier than we'd hoped at the track but it was all good.

The rolla ran well and dipped into the mid 1:12's which I was very happy with.

New turbo is very nice and the car drove great all day so I was impressed with that. It was a pretty hot day but the rolla just took it in its stride and never saw coolant temps above 92 deg C and oil temps about 95 deg C so can't complain about that

Never checked inlet temps though as my ECU handset was playing up in the heat.

Rear tyres are fried now pretty much, just enough tread to get through Summenrats then I'll grab something nice and grippy to replace them


So when are we going again.............

Representing Toyota on the day were my rolla, a Yaris (that went better than most other cars there), an SW20 that spent more time going backwards and off the track than anything else and then just plenty of Nissans, some Mitsubishis, an Elise, WRX etc.
