Default bubbling noise from dashboard when taking off

    Hi,

When I start to accelerate from a takeoff I hear a bubbling noise from the dashboard which comes on for about 3 seconds then goes away. To be exact the noise comes near the radio unit and the ashtray.

What could this be? Heater Core?

    Thanks.

blinker fluid... needs to be topped up

edit: you also need to properly bleed your coolant system too

Seconded. Had this in both the 7MGTE (until coolant was filled correctly) and in the 5ME (after getting my heater fixed) but now the 5ME is fine once I topped her up.

    Thanks guys.

cuzzo yes it does, come over and fix it.

oldcorolla's I cant find any blinker fluid, please send me some from japan as my blinkers are blinking very slowly and frowning at police cars, which will be a defect.

kedderz nope I got a 1g, Head Gasket is fine.

So the cooling system just needs to be flushed?

Is there anyway of getting rid of the air pockets without flushing the cooling system?
If flushing is the only option, is there any steps to take when refilling to avoid air pockets forming?

Thanks all, Oldcorollas get onto sourcing me that fluid dude I'm going to get in trouble, i'm counting on you.

cooling system needs to be BLED of air..

that means, removing the air pockets.....

either park on slope, or there will be a fitting at highest point of coolign system etc..
should be in the manual for your car

If you've been driving it over 3000rpm and the thermo. is working and the heater valve has been open and the heater system isn't clogged, the cooling system should be purging itself, so there is air getting into the system, from overheating or HG or leak.

    park on uphill slope.
    remove rad cap
run car until it hits operating temp (ie: thermostat opens)
    watch bubbles come out
    ???
    profit

if sound returns, you've got air getting in as allencr said.... then you cry.

Yeh make sure heater is on HOT, and bleed system properly!

These days i top it up with a hose, and then stick a 2L bottle filled with water in the filler and just leave it until it starts to melt!
