and if anyone can point me in the direction of instructions to dismantle and re-assemble that would be great.
hey guys i bought a second hand sc12 supercharger that i will be useing for a 4k supercharged project
it will be suckthrough, which makes this even more of a problem
just took the inlet off the SC and turned the pulley
not sure what they are called but the big air flow things inside get oil on them as it turns
so im assuming the seals need re-doing.
apart form taht it seams to blow and suck alaright with me just turning it by hand.
but yeah.
i found a seal kit on this site http://www.twosrus.com/catalog/produ...roducts_id=100
how hard is it to tear down the sc and do this myself
cheers guys
sorry about grammar, abit out of it today
and if anyone can point me in the direction of instructions to dismantle and re-assemble that would be great.
From what i have read they are very difficult to dismantle. Id suggest finding another one or just whack the one you have on and give it a shot
Taken from website "Installation requires a complete tear down of the supercharger."
ive heard it is difficult but i just payed 200 bucks for an SC im not about to blow another 200 when i can get a seal kit for fairly cheap.
plus once i do it once i can do it again, knowledge is power haha
also its more important for my application as fuel will be runing though the sc, so id rather the fuel mixture does not include oil
so anyone got the power im looking for?

the following thread is all about tearing down an SC12. Best of luck.

only thing i have found difficult so far, is getting the damn nut off the saft, to remove the gears... definitely need rattle gun for that..
other than that, seems fairly easy? i guess some people have difficulty pulling engines apart too.
are you sure the oil is leaking out? as sometimes they just get oily inside due to sucking in crankcase gases..
is there oil in the end bit? (dipstick bit)

thereis oil in the end bit with the dipstick
and the sc12 has been out of use for sumtime, unkown how long
but when i turn the pulley by hand i can see that the rotors are picking up a fair amount of oil as they turn, (oil sitting in the bottom)
it prety much coats half of them,
and i have access to a rattle gun and am fairly mechanically minded, i start motor mechanic apprenticeship in about 2 weeks.
how do-able would it be, how did you get the bearings out? ive read that you can only get them out by destoying them or heating them very hot to melt the adhesive.
cheers

Are you sure the previous owner didnt just "oil it up" because it was going to sit around for a while?

it is pretty easy to take the main case off the end which houses the gears (careful lovetaps with wooden mallet would maybe suffice, and then you can clean the housings and the lobes, and the bearing area stays sealed.
then.. if you can see it coming out, do seal...
edit: i pulled it down to the point of having to take off the nuts on the gears.. but i don7t have a rattle gun, and a leccy rattle gun was not beefy enough
but up until then = easy.
one point to remember..... those gears REALLY bite.... they will chew up your fingers etc
and it is prolly better to have the rotors in the main housing when you rattle off the nuts... cos otherwise you might bend the lobes, as they are not that strong..
also mark which rotor is which, and which way they come off the gears etc.... make sure everything lines up...
i can7t see that guide above, but i can take pics of my half disassembled SC14 if you neeed?

hmm, pics would be nice,
il do what you said and take off the main case to check if its actually leaking or not.
the rattle gun i have access to is an air one, not sure how beefy it is tho.
