    Default A430 Auto - Manualised

Hi guys first of I don't know a heap about auto's hence the questions

    I pulled a A430 out of MS112 from behind a 5ME.

Now I want to manualise the auto, behind my 7MGTE without factory ecu.

I found that the auto I pulled out only had a Over drive switch wired to it, there was no A/T ecu only an EFI.

So what I want to know is if I send this box a way to get the valve body modified by say C&V or who eva they are in adeliade. To shift kit it, do I need on of their ECU's to make it shift or is this box hydralic controlled so I only need a over drive switch.

    thanks guys

I would have thought it would have an A43D?

In that case it should be fully hydraulic, just with the OD switch for 4th. (No control box)

Pretty sure that was the case with my 5ME auto in my MX62

PS why the want to use that box, and not an A340E?

    Cheers

A340 is easy, there are a few people selling shift boxes for them

I have one in the bunky and i wired up a switch for the torque convertor lockup too

The A43DE is very similar to the A340E, ie 3 solenoids, full electronic control.
But the A43D will be a completely hydraulic box with the only electronics behind overdrive, and *possibly* lockup torque convertor (if its an A43DL).

I doubt its an A43DE, so its either an A43D or A43DL.

Either way a) it will work fine without an ecu and b) it won't last more than a week behind a 7MGTE.

I know my old A43DE had an integrated bellhousing, so I'll presume the A43D is the same, and thus no, you cannot use the bellhousing.

No matter what, you'll be looking at tailshaft mods.

That will work, but I'm not sure how long an old 7MGE autobox will hold up behind a boosted 7MGTE.

Also the A43 D is longer than a A340 which makes it harder to use in most conversions. Alltho the output spline is the same as a W58, you still would need to shorten the tailshaft to use the A43 .
