Question Replacing rear axle (MS112 Crown)

    Hey folks,
I recently had an altercation with a gutter and the crown now has a bent LHS axle.
Never changed one before, and don't have a service manual, so is there any tips or hints any one can give me?
Its an MS112 crown rear end (live axle, coil sprung, discs).
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

I've never done it to a MS112 diff but I'd assume it's a fairly generic process.
    1. Pull the drum off
    2. Pull the axle retaining plate off by sticking a socket through the hole in the end of the axle to undo the 4 nuts, obviously rotate the axle to get to each
    3. Use an axle puller to pop the axle out

Installing is revers of the above. In this situation where the axle is bent I really recomend making sure you have a good axle puller to use, I can see the old reversed drum being used as a slide hammer taking a long time on a munted axle.

if its the disc brake version they have a 50mm wide bearing and would be a prick to get out with anything less than a big slidehammer.

be sure that the housing is still straight before you put it back together as the wheelbearings in them aren't the cheapest things around.

MS112 should be disc rear, so need to pull off caliper and disc. BIG slide hammer needed and then have to juggle your way past the internal drum handbrake with the retaining plate.

As above. Whip off caliper and disc, undo retaining bolts, then a use a big fuckoff slidehammer to pull out the axle (bearing is 50mm wide and mega exxy).
