    Default 1jz Questions

    Hey guys

Few questions to keep me on track with the jzx81

Currently got the engine out and fixing up a few things.

Does anyone know part number for serpentine belt WITHOUT A/C

Im knocking up a FCD for the ECU, and have just bolted aftermarket dump pipes to the twins, should i be running a safc? ive heard people have trouble tuning them with FCD installed. Or will it be right on stock tune, no safc and boost controller if need be.

Does anyone know whats involved in removing the ABS unit that is in front of the right wheel, got a feeling it might be in the way.

Running a r154 box behind the 1jz, im farking clue less with this whole push pull type bull shit. What are the jzx90 boxes? Part number for slave cly required?
I spoke to jim berry from race clutches and he said a pull type would be best.

    Thanks for you time

    1. Does anyone know part number for serpentine belt WITHOUT A/C
    6PK1875

    2. When removing the crankpulley/harmonic balancer i chipped couple small bits of metal off back ridge on the crank pulley. Is this enough to throw off balance or anything? Or can i re use it. It wont affect the way the belt runs.
    Will be fine

    5. Also wtf does a line come out of the power steering rack, run to front of car, do a loop and head back for lol. Its in the way of my cooler lol.

Remove and replace all brake lines in bay with ones from a non-ABS ADM model

    3. Anyone know what type of bearing is in the idler? i lost the bearing and dont have vernier calipers lol

Search the old forums for my JZA61 build, the part number is in there (I swapped it over)

    5. Also wtf does a line come out of the power steering rack, run to front of car, do a loop and head back for lol. Its in the way of my cooler lol.
This is your power steering cooler. It stops your steering cooking. keep it or replace with a side-mounted fin-type cooler

dont bother with FCD until you see whether your hitting boost cut, its hit and miss, most people are fine (mine with dumps, no cat, and 1 muffler is hitting 10psi)

you need a non-ABS halfcuts brake lines (the hard metal ones) AND the brake master, abs and non-abs are slightly different, dont ask me for the differences, i dont remember.

JZX90 box is same as JZA70, an R154, JZZ30 shares a box with JZX90, also an R154 but different shifter config (JZX81 and JZA70 might be different, not sure, but essentially they all run the same box)

So basically if i get a normal 1jz pressure plate, send it off to jim berry to make me a clutch and use the factory jzx90 slave and pivot arms etc the clutch will be fine?

i was told that jzx90 r154 is different to a jza70 one because its gear stick was in a different position so it was longer? i have a jza70 one in mine so you'll have to see if it fits all other components are exactly the same, i doubt there would be too much difference.

    I have R154 off JZX90 in my 1jz cressida.
Clutch setup is basically the same as any R154.
The only different is remote shifter, and it is Electronic speed sensor not mechanical like the jza70.
Slave cylinder is the same as any R154.

For removing abs unit is quite tricky. I removed my abs couple of months ago!
I replace it with a non abs lines and p/valve from another non abs cressida. A non ABS proportional valve is requires plus all the lines.

use your standard one to get a custom one made up all they do is reuse the uni-joints if they are still good. normally costs around 300-400 dollars
