Air leak post throttle body?...
Is the ISCV powered / wired correctly? If not then perhaps it is open (and effectively a post throttle air leak) causing the high idle...
Cheers

So the engine is running now, Beams Red top from an st202, but the idle doesn't drop. Not sure what speed it is staying at, probably above 1500RPM, as I haven't got the tacho signal fixed up yet. Let me know your thoughts on why it might be doing this, temp gauge and thermo fans work as they should, as does the thermostat. I don't think there is any air pockets in the water system as I have run it without the cap on to bleed it.
Thanks if you can help

Will check it out hopefully it's something nice and easy.
Check the ECU for error codes.

Thanks guysLooks like it was something simple, should have had a better look at the cooling system, the pipes to the sensor under the throttle body are full of air so back to bleeding.
Heres a tip:
Jack the front of the car as high as possible so the radiator filler hole is higher then anythign else. 9/10 it will bleed straight away, give the hoses a squeeze even start the engine up and let it idle for abit.
if this dont work keep it jacked up and let it run till the thermostat opens up, be warned this will cause alot of hot water and mess if there is a huge air leak. Use a coke bottle with the bottom chopped off and use elec tape around the lid hole to fit in the radiator hole. fill it up and let it idle, when the thermostat opens it will bubble up then suck down the water. u will need to top it up slowly do it to about half way up the coke bottle.
Well it turns out that it's not a bubble, the path is blocked, so I'm off to try and find as much as I can on the sensor to see if it has a valve, and re check the wiring, hopefully it's not broken...
i have a spare plenum for sale if it helps you out
Ok, so I have found the thermostat in the throttle body is jammed shut, no amount of temperature change makes any difference to it. Does anyone have one spare that I could pick up tomorrow sometime? Happy to pay. I have dug up the part number from the toyodiy website, 22214-7A680 I will be checking if the item is stocked or not. Here's hoping this is the last thing and I can have it all done before christmas
