A few of the guys have used rodtech for diff work and were happy with the work

Hi,
I am putting a r31 skyline diff (BW 78) into a ke70. Just need someone to weld the mounts on. This may include making a jig from the old diff and then cutting off and welding on the skyline diff with the help of the jig. Not concerned about width as it is a track car and the extra will be an advantage (front already has extra track). I rang around to day and found no one has a jig for the ke70 or ae86, and no one willing to make the jig. Thinking I am going to have to do it myself but don't really have the time. So if anyone has any suggestions on people/places who do this stuff can you let me know
Thanks
Roger

Boss Automotive at Lonsdale did mine (RN25 with RA28 mounts & JZA70 LSD).
Good guys, and did a good job of the diff.

Yeah,
Rod Tech said no they won't do it, maybe because they have had problems with such things in the past.
Boss Automotive will do it but at a price of ~$900 or so which I think is expensive just to change the mounts over. So I am looking at making my own jig, similar to that of gaxx's jig, i.e. one that braces the diff to reduce/eliminate any warping, and uses the centre of the diff tubes as a datum. In fact It may be built to house almost any recipient diff (some brakets/bushes on the end would be required to house the recipient diff in jig) for a ke70/ae71/ae86 although it will be initally set up with donor (ke70) borgwarner mounts.

Hmmmm..
$900 is a good price.. as it is a 2 to 3 day job to cut & grind the hangers & get it right....
sorry i've not got the pic's for you yet of my jig.. (had family prob's at home)
Q: what is the total width of the diff' over the bearing mounts...
ring me again if your still having prob's...
i'll try to get some pic's soon..
cheers
