Default disassembling a supra diff G299 torsen

How the hell do you get the side shafts out? is it true there is a snap ring on the end of them and you need to pry the shafts out of the housing???

In case ive got the name 'side shaft' wrong, its what your inner CV's bolt to. 6 stud flange thingo. Toyota EPC calls it "SHAFT SUB-ASSY, REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR"

    Slide hammer works well...

There is a little ring that holds them in...you're calling it 'snap ring'... you can see it marked 41334D in your pic

EPC calls it a snap ring ...im guessing its because it 'snaps' into place. We have used a couple of pry bars to pull it out but its not happening. Slide hammer eh?

Yeah slide hammer is my weapon of choice...

But I've also managed to get F series out in the past with a couple of cold chisels and tapping one in a lever fashion...

    Cheers

I did this recently with a slide hammer. Very easy.

I also tried with two big screw driver technique and it worked well also.
