ok this thread has been long awaited by a few people. i dont if these sizes will work for other motors but it worked for my hybrid. please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.
starting with the crank pulley, it measures 84mm across dia, you can see where the belt ran.
and 46mm wide on the gear cut bit and 76mm total width

and now for the alt pulley, its size was 38mm dia and a depth of 25mm. the alt pulley was the one that made belt drive true.
note the raised edges for belt guides.
unfortunatly i am no longer running this set up as my crank pulley key slot was chipped by the key and so it just ran free but not enough to charge the battery. i have convered back to standard configuration.
Thanks
Patrick

Id be interested to take them off your hands mate if your willing to sell them..I am still trying to work out how to get mine to fit.
Have you go any pics of it all mounted up before you removed it from the engine?
Thanks for doing this also mate,
Cheers

no other pics sorry, i'd have to say that the pulley on the crank was the hardest to remove. basically the motor had to be out of the car so that i could get a good grip on it with the bearing puller. but when it was on the crank it sat flush with it because the original bolt that holds on the old one fitted back on posi. the water pump pulley is staright forward as is the alt.

What material are those pulleys are made from? are they alloy? I've often wondered why they make alloy ones because the fact they use steel belts and obviously the alloy is softer. A friends car with gilmour drive belt just recently had a major fail with the water pump bearing seazing causing the pump to throw out a chuck of cast metal bursting coolent everywhere. Upon the replacement of water pump, new pulley and belt he found that there wasn't enough adjustment on alternator to create the significant noise that the gilmour belts are desired for. Is this because of the belt being fresh and soft rubber or the fact that the pulley may be too small? There isn't any real conclusive information available on the internet on these systems? anyone had much experience?

is this the same for the 3tgte?

Ryan - if the 3tgte has the same block as the 3t then i'd say yes. but dont take my word on it.
NOTE - Gilmer Pulleys will not fit vehicles fitted with air conditioning or power steering.
timma - my belt did make that whinnig noise, but my webbers would drown it out once i rev'd it. so i didnt get that mad max sound happening all the way through the revs. the alt bracket had an extention piece on it for tighter adjustments.

If you are not running a supercharger or external oil pump, what is the point of gilmer drive belts?
I have the standard old fashioned setup on mine. It only has to drive the waterpump and alternator, runs fine.
It allows you to run looser belts that dont slip, and you get that awesome noise.

So are you saying that you shouldnt run these super tight to make noise? Ive got one and ive pulled it as tight as i can...no noise. Should it be backed off a bit to produce the whine?Originally Posted by LeeRoy

You should be getting a noise out of it mate, maybe play around with the different adjustment of the alternator..Originally Posted by JetspeedCamry

I cant wait to play with the tension of the belt to have a fine whine being produced all the time only to be drowned out by the spooling up of the turbo and release of the bov,its sure to sound like a freeking machine that will have alot of people trying to guess what the fork is in it.![]()

Timmay, sounds like he got a belt with a couple more teeth than the original one he had,get him to count the original vs the new and see if there is a difference. I remember from looking ages ago that they seems to have different sized belts that werent all that different eg 85 tooth to 87 etc.Originally Posted by Timma
Also they seem to be an alloy of some description, never heard of them using a steel belt![]()
cheers

LOL yeah i meant to say steel pulley for the alt. The belt hardness is harder then the alloy type pulleys hence the wear.
