1X motor replacement

Hey all,

my friend has a corona he isnt using which he lent me for a drift practice day a little while ago. I'm unsure of the model right now but i can get back to you.

Well it gots a "1X" motor in it which i'm told is similar to a holden 6

Now my questions is will a holden 6 bolt up to the gearbox ?

if not what is required to do it ?

I know in the long run it wont be worth my while and i should be spending money on my other project but i'd like to do something to get a bit more power of the corona so in time maybe the owner will take it out.

the xt130 corona has the engine you described

i couldnt find much about the gearbox other than it might be a borg warner BW07 5speed

if its the 4cyl starfire motor then yeah it will, its pretty much a holden 6 with 2 bangers cut off. What a useless pos it is too

yeah its a peice of shit motor no doubt at all.
i was past the bridge at baskerville before i hit tripple figures,

So in theory a holden 6 should fit ?

It sounds too good to be true,
why dont holden drivers use this gearbox for manual conversions if it bolts to the holden motors fine ?

Yes this gearbox will bolt straight up to a 6 but you have to change the clutch plate as the 4cyl box is fine spline and 6cyl run course.
And yes they are a rotten old Borg Warner.
