From what I understand they are an absolute bitch to do. I have not done these myself but people who have and can shed some light are hamgatan and eldaro. PM these two and they should be able to help you out with some idea. Hamgatan is planning on selling his ones too

And remember that the states dont have a steering column to deal with so that might give you a bit of grief.

Judging by look probably a lot more work to get them to fit than it would be worth... get some custom made, or get some that were made specifically for a jzx81

It's a pretty annoying and tricky job fitting dumps to jzx81 when they are designed for the car, so I can't imagine how hard it would be adapting something that's not designed for it

making dumps for cressidas isnt the same as making dumps for soarers and supras

we get problems with where the steering column is attached to the rack (that little uni joint there)

pretty sure you'll have dramas with that kit. it looks like youd need to mod just where the collector is for the first section, and mess around with the second section to make sure it extends to where it should

Gary is right... you'd be better off buying a set of dumps that were designed for a jzx81 or locally delivered mx83 (with 1j conversion). Canak Autosports is one place that makes them. That's where i got mine from.

yeah as i said in my PM. i have JZA70 pipes, which fit fine in my JZZ20, but thats pretty much an identical chassis and setup to a JZA70. you have a JZX81 so it might be different with the steering arms and stuff in the way.

anyhow when you do get them yes its a prick of a job and if youre doing it for the first time its about 12 hours of work.

    basically the steps are -

    1. raise car. drain oil and coolant. get under car
    2. unbolt catalytic converter from factory dump pipe (2 bolts)
    3. unbolt factory downpipe (you'll need to dodge up some long extenders to get to them. 3 bolts)
    4. slide out downpipe
    5. from above engine, unscrew main intake. slide it off.
    6. unbolt front section of intake from the top of the front turbine outlet. 2 bolts and disconnect from hose.
    7. remove front section of turbo inlet. 2 bolts.
    8. remove bov and piping from tubing/pipes.
    9. remove rear section of turbo inlet (very hard to get to! get yourself some ratchet spanners for this job - 2 bolts)
    10. remove rear section of turbo outlet pipe. 2 bolts + tubing.
    11. remove turbo heat shield (4 bolts)
    12. unclip front and rear water lines (4)
    13. unbolt turbo flanges from manifold flanges (3 nuts on top)
    14. get under the car and unbolt turbo flanges from the bottom (3 nuts on bottom)
    15. unbolt turbo oil return drains from the block keeping caution to retain washers (2 x 19mm bolts)
    16. unbolt turbo support brackets (4 bolts total)
    17. remove front radiator hose from bottom of radiator to water pump inlet
    18. get your extension bars together again and unbolt the small nuts from the top of the turbo oil drains. you may need to bend the front return drain to the side slightly to get a socket into there. rear turbo you shouldnt have to (4 nuts total).
    19. now get back to the top of the car. with a bit of wiggling you should be able to lift the entire turbo assembly out of the car.
    20. lay turbos on the ground, unbolt the 4 nuts per flange on the y pipe (x 2) and separate Y Pipe from turbos.
    21. reinstall gaskets and new Y pipe. change the nuts/studs for bolts if you can get some from the hardware store (high tensile ones, same pitch and thread).
    22. reverse all of the above to put them back in

    That should help you out!

I can vouch from experiance these dump pipes don't fit a 1jz converted cressida. They would need to be heavily modified. They foul with the steering column.
