The problem is that the R32 GTS-t/Z32 4 pot Sumitomo caliper is designed for a 280mm-297mm brake rotor. The design is such that to correctly place this size rotor full depth inside the centre of the caliper, the leading and trailing edges sit just above the edge of the rotor.
So when you go to a bigger diameter rotor, the curvature of the rotor prevents it seating completely within the caliper.
I can't think of the completely proper technical terms right now...
Basically, it works good as a cheap upgrade to stocker setup, and while it doesn't "look right" it works and works pretty good. Next step up is to use a completely different caliper designed for the larger disc, with appropriate mounting brackets to properly place it over a specific size rotor.
