In regards to ebay adds. if the ad belongs to the poster it can be listed in the appropriate section in the classifieds. If the price is inflated on toymods and it is at auction then the people interested will only bid up to what they want to spend. Most people have some random part that they have spare, but don't really want to get rid of, but need some money. So things come up at high prices and eventually come down.
RAd28 - Not much can be done about your particular complaint, I would sugest a PM to the seller with what you will pay may help.
Advertising in sigs The boards stance is:-
There is to be no wording in a users sig that can be construed as advertising (For sale or wanted).
The Moderator that sees the Sig is the person that makes the call.
Ricey, I think you should be fine being a sponsor, but will confirm.

Since it's still an advertisement for selling I believe it should have a price on it since that is the rule for all ads on toymods. Also, since auctions aren't allowed this price should be one that is set and doesnt increase as the auctions current price does.
On the downside people could just list $100 on here for a pen but then have it on ebay starting at $1, effectively forcing people to bid on it.
Can anything be done about people listing exorberant prices or is it just something that will be sorted out by the markets response (ie none)?
I guess to show your disapproval just don't buy the guys shit.

well on that point LeeRoy, I remember Billzilla selling a gearbox i think... for $15000 or something stupid like that with the words "OR BEST OFFER" in big bold letters... it ticks all the boxes, abides by all the rules, and he gets what he wants too...
Smart, but cheeky...

Well maybe links to ebay ad's should be banned then regardless of who's it is.

ive posted for sstuff for sale before and said items for sale on ebay also and had ppl ask for the link, i was selling a 1JZ R154 running aerocabin i wanted 4 grand which is a steal so i think it would be fair if i waited to get max bid from auction if it exceeded 4k, and if anyone from toymods really want it they can bid on it. Its not always ppl trying to get a ridiculous price, just what somethings worth
If somethings too expensive for u dont look or buy it. Just laugh at whoever does
Well if people are selling things for stupidly high prices, they are just wasting their own time.
buyer beware.
do some research and then decide if object is worth asking price to yourself.
fuck what other people reckon, worth is relative to both purchaser and seller.
let the haggling begin
.
Hi,
Okay, the topic of adverts in your sig was brought up at last nights Board meeting.
It is basically what Lambo says.....
You can not advertise in your sig, unless you are a sponsor.
If you are selling something, be it on Toymods, eBay or wherever, you can put a link to your sale in your sig, but you cannot say "Look what I'm selling" or anything like that, as that constitutes you're advertising.
Similarly, if you are looking for something you cannot say "Looking for xxxx" followed by the link to (I guess) to your Toymods Parts Wanted thread. But putting in the link with no "request" is fine.
Personally, I think the safest way is to just put in the link to whatever you are selling or wanting, with no text. People will see it and click on it if they are interested to see where it leads.
All sigs must be no longer than 5 lines, or they will get pruned.
