yes there is.
Line the enging up at TDC before removing the belt and you will see how the marks are meant to align.
There's two marks on the cam cover and a mark on the oil pump housing that line up with the crank gear. Almost the same as a 16V.
Just wanting to know if there are Manufacturer marks on the stock cam gears and crank shaft that I can double check to make sure that when replacing the timing belt it isn't out by a tooth or two?
Cheers in advance

Dank,
Just be careful as there are two (2) timing marks on the cam wheels.
When looking at the front of the motor, the left hand cam wheel is the inlet cam wheel.
- There should be a mark on the wheel that lines up with a mark on the front plate at the 12 O'Clock position
- There is another mark on the cam wheel that should be at 3 O'Clock
- If you have a mark at 12 O'clock and a mark at 9 O'Clock IT IS WRONG!
The Right hand cam wheel is the exhaust cam wheel
- There should be a mark on the wheel that lines up with a mark on the front plate at the 12 O'Clock position
- There is another mark on the cam wheel that should be at 9 O'Clock
- If you have a mark at 12 O'Clock and 3 O'Clock IT IS WRONG
NB the inlet mark at 3 O'Clock should line up with the exhaust cam wheel mark at 9 O'Clock - they kinda meet in the middle.
As mentioned above there is a small dimple in the oil pump housing - the TDC mark should line up with that
Hope this helps
Puzzi That info is gold. I looked at the cam marks the other night and noticed the two different marks and thought that what you have said may have been the case. Thanks for the clarification.
Cheers
