Why not another 4AF crank anyway? They are probably even more common than 4AC ones.

Yes, just check your clearances. Rods and flywheel should both swap over.

the 4af might have a fully counter-balanced crank so it would be taking a bit of a step backwards, a quick visual check will be able to tell you

Yeah, their both half counter balanced, both have 6 bolt crank flanges, and share the same rod and main journals. It will work because a friend of mine did the opposite. Stuffed his 4AC crank, then picked up a 4AFE crank.Originally Posted by Sam_Q

well there you go, so they pretty much are an identical part, makes sense though as Toyota would be able to use an existing part for their economy engine
