    Default 1JZ Air con

    Hi All,

I've searched on this and found a bunch of wirring diagrams but nothing that helps me too much.

My story (question) starts with a 1jz conversion into an MX83 Cressida, Engine runs and everything seems to work except for the air con.

I had the local air con guy re-gass the system and to do that he had to use a jumper wire to get the air con clutch to engage and spin the system up.

So here I sit with a freshly gassed system, but it still doesn't work...

I'm keen to get it working again ASAP, but the diagrams I have dont seem to shed any light.

I'm handy with a soldering iron and multi metre and have installed aftermarket ECUs before so don't think it'd be a problem forme if someone can point me in the right direction. What I'm looking for particularly is what each wire on the compressor (and the the 3 wire plug) is supposed to be connected to. The colours do not correspond to any of the digrams I've manged to find. There apepars to be two wires on the bottom of the compressor (with it mounted) that are the same dark green colour andone light wire (grey or white) that wraps around the top, and all 3 then come to a plug...

The grey wire (could be dirty and white) seems to dissappear over behind the compressor and I suspect it's an earth.

The 3 wires on the loom side of the plug donot match the colours of the 2 greens and one grey (white) wire.

Happy to hear any advice of if there is someone willing to take on the challenge of getting it working I'm happy to pay them - No idea what the job is worth, but willing to pay properly for a proper job.

So guys hook me up with some help or suggest the air con wiring guru. I'll be awayfor a few days, but can be anywhere between Newcastle/Sydney/Canberra from the weekend to early next week if anyone in those areas can hook me up.

    Cheers.

The two wires coming out of the bottom would be for the slip/rpm sensor, these generally aren't polarity sensitive so can go either way as long as they hook up to the right two wires in the loom, the other wire will be for the compressor clutch - it simply applys +12v to engage it. There is no earth wire, they earth through the engine block

Try and find a pinout for your AC amplifier and match up the pins and wires (using a multimeter if colours don't do much for you). Essentially all that will end up happening is +12v will be run into the compressor clutch to engage it and disengage it as the AC amplifier tells it to. AC wiring is pretty simple

You can find the appropriate wire coming from the 'magnetic clutch' relay inside the relay/fuse box under the bonnet. This is connected from the output of the AC amp and operates according to the thermostat, pressure switches, etc. The other thing you need to make sure is that the electric condensor fan is connected to the appropriate pressure switch and operates properly.
