yea the rubbers on them have broken alot of free play in the steering

There is a lot more to a steering system than the tie rod ends, which by their nature are a threaded rod so you arent going to get much freeplay there.
I know you are doing a conversion and your car may not be drivable, but i would suggest taking it to a specialist if there unless there is someone here that can offer better advice as it may be something else entirely. Its a bit hard to diagnose things over the net.
i had a machanic check it up and said that is the prob..i called toyota and they dont have any tie rods.

I got them brand new from Burson Auto Parts. If you are having trouble try Automotive Surplus here in Mitcham (Melbourne).
Any luck?
I need both outer tie rod ends and pitman arm for my RX12. If you find a place that stocks these new let me know.
I'm currently using my tie rod ends after they had plastic/nylon injected in them to reduce play(was legal when they were done, but not now). Got a MX30 pitman arm on at the moment, but lock to lock is shorter.
yep i got all four brand new..i got rare spares to call around for me. try them
