I'm helping out a friend doing a 4agte conversion and just want some advice.
What are you lot doing with regards to oil drains?
The manifold we have hangs to low this is a test fit
So with regards to oil feeds, to get a good drain out of the turbo the pipe goes too low in the sump so oil will pool in the bottom of the pipe.
Do you thiink this will be ok? or do you have any other suggestions?

just try to get as steep an angle possible, i wouldnt put a 90 degree bend on it personally.
and this is a FWD right?
it looks like the cast one's that have been on e-bay, aparently re-cast with the turbo flange on them. or the owner could own a original HKS cast manifold.
but i say (as cartlege mentions) that the turbo is mounted too low and will have oil return issues no matter what you do with the oil return.
i have close to a 90 degree bend on 2 of my turbo's straight out from the oil return.
cartlege is a aw11 owner, i would figure this could be going into another aw11..... i hope.![]()
pretty sure you can get 45 degree ones too? my drain has a 45 on the sump end so its a nice progression. turbo is higher up tho so slightly diff situation.
or you can build what ever angle you want.
also i would clock the turbo center a little to face it back towards the sump, might help a bit.![]()

single small scavenge pump to pull oil out of the turbo?ie, PS pump or similar?

i have 5/8" oil return lines, though i prefer to have them come into the sump higher than DOHC20's. (on a aw11 oil would pour out that hole if you had to remove the oil return pipe while up on ramps with a full sump of oil. not much fun.)..

Oil feed is simple, remove the oil prseeure switch, and screw in a "T" piece. Make sure not to hang the oil pressure switch off the "T" piece. Make up a flexible line and remote locate the switch. If you do hang the switch off the "T" piece, they tend to snap, and you loose your oil.

even better is to remove the oil pressure sender, put flexible line from there to a remote mounted T peice that holds the oil pressure sender and flexible line to the turbo.![]()
