Torsen is good for everything except drift, drag and 4x4.
You have to determine what you have now, and whether a ratio as tall as 3.7 will benefit your car.
If its a 1G it will suck, if its a bigger motor with a laggy turbo it will be good.
on another note, if i get a a70 torsen lsd which is what 3.7 ratio??? is there any other benefit of having one beside the ratio?

Yea its pretty stocko at the moment will have some adjustable cam gears put it soon
So it would pretty much kill all acceleration then unless i was turning a bit more power?
do toyota have any other diffs that would suit the z20 that would be worth looking into?
The way the car drives now is awesome but yea once your on the highway its a diff story, and i dont wanna be sittin on 3500-4000 all the time probably not too good for a 20year old motor.

If you indeed do have a 4.55 diff then anything you put in there will make the car feel slower.
What does your firewall say the diff is?
Oh, and are you 100% sure the speedo is reading correctly?

I know it will be slower if i put something taller in but is there a good in between because the a70 torsen would be too much yea? but did the ga70s come with them? or was it just the ma70s?

I think that's very misleading dude. Toyota don't make the seals, they buy them. You can get the same seals they'll sell you at highly inflated prices if you take the old seal to a decent bearing shop and get them to match the part number.Originally Posted by cambelt1

like orlando said Theres nothing wrong with getting say an skf etc brand over toyota its normally just pricing, like the rear main seal i picked up was $20 whereis its 12$ anywhere else. The only reason i opted for toyota is they had em on hand and there really close to were i live.Originally Posted by JustCallMeOrlando

No just the extension housing has to come off.
Um very incorrect on the seal matter tho , Toyota and NOK have a aggrement that the aftermarket is not allowed to sell the the very same NOK as the Genuine ones .
There has been in the past allmost the same ones as genuine but not the same . ie diff temp ratings, rotatation, material etc .
I have tried many bearing shops in melb and none carry NOK at all . Maybe you guys up nth have better shops than down here .

Its your call on the new diff. The torsen is good, but IMO the 3.7 will suck.
