4AGE coil on plug conversion

I was just reading through the 3SGTE coil on plug conversion thread, and am now wondering as to the possibility of adding the same system to my 4AGZE.

Does anyone know of a compatible swap? I plan to be using the Microtech ECU with the X4 ignitor box, so I don't need coils with inbuilt ignitors.

I'm pretty sure the centre 'valley' cover between the cam covers is lower on the 4AGZE, but the cam covers can be swapped to the 4AGE if extra room is needed.


Anyone know anything or done this before?

Kaizen Garage use the newer 1NZ coilpacks on 16V's and 1zz coils on 20V's.

On the 16V you just make a plate for the coils to bolt up to.

A work mate just got a set from the US for his MX-6...
apparently they have ignitor and coil built in.
he's gonna use them with an adaptronic in a wasted spark config wired directly from the ignition outputs.
I've got an adaptronic to go in (one day) and will be looking at that option... (wait till he does his) they look the right fit for a 4AG.

this is true, i think there is even the Nissan badge on the number one coil pack..but i definitely know you can use 1zz-fe packs.
