Hydra, just got a new pulley setup from japan sitting at home, will take detailed pics for ya
but can only post em after work ~5pm WST
Hello!
I'm having a few problems with my 1jz, the tensioner pulley seems to jam up if I tighten the bolt much more than finger tight.
Does anyone have a picture of how it should look installed? Mine has the pulley and bearing slipped over the bolt hole bit, and the bolt + flange thing look like they hold it on. If it's tightened up and torqued it appears to be unable to rotate at all, but if it's loosened off just enough it'll spin freely. For the mean time I've used some of that temporary loc-tite to hold it at the point that seems to work best. Without the loc-tite it'll vibrate loose which is not a good thing
Am I missing a washer or something? If needed I can grab pictures![]()

are you talking about the timing belt tensioner or the accessories belt tensioner?
As they say in the book, assembly is the reverse of dismantling, but slower cos you forgot where all the bits are
Which type do you have?
Metal pulley or plastic pulley?

Sorry guys, accessories tensioner. Plastic one![]()

There is a 'washer' on each side.
The one with the larger hole goes to the rear.

Thanks - perhaps I am missing the rear one then.
Crap, that means I'll have to take off the belt...![]()

so why are there plastic and metal ones, are the plastic ones aftermarket?
ive got the metal one on my 1jz and my mate has a plastic one on his 1jz that is a bit chopped up and the bearing is a bit noisey.
