Power isnt that important to me..Revs are what im chasing 7500 would be great.
The 18RC has enough power of the start but wont rev hard enough. We run flatout in second so revs = speed..

Agreed, Pintos are extremely common as rally engines for Eskys. Loads of experience and parts out there for them, relatively cheap and common too.Originally Posted by cambelt1

if you are running to a budget. think about a Datsun L series as well.
As Dale said in Post #6. No mods except adapting a single carby.16 Valve must remain completly stock.......
So comes down to a stock 3S-G running less than original output unless you can find a very good carb. Or an 18R-G with good cams and compression and the same good carb.
I also read the rules as; You could run a single side draught 40mm Solex or find a PHH44mm Mikuni off any of the Datsuns that ran them from factory. They are dual throat carbs.
Are you actually allowed to build a 2lt motor out of a 2T-G. IE 4mm O/S with 3T crank, 3T/2t-G hybrid.
If you are allowed to build motors to the 2lt capacity then you can modify a single side draught 2T manifold to bolt to the 2T-G with the allowed 25mm, easiest of all the options.
Then again are you allowed to widen a manifold? That is, take the fore mentioned 2T manifold, widen it to match the 18R-G and add a 25mm spacer to match the bolt pattern.
Perhaps a standard 2T down draught manifold has the port spacings to match a 3S-G. Then you could add a Webber dual barrel down draught and its adaptor plate, plus 25mm of plate to bolt it to the head.
Or do the above with the single side draught 2T manifold.
That's about my options burnt.

Interesting Rodger
I cut a gemini manifold in half last night..18mm in the middle and it will fit perfect.???
Is there a factory 2T single side draft manifold.?? Wonder how close it would go to the RG ports.???

Dale,
Another interpretation to check:
The 2T side draught is unfortunately after market, but;
The line:
"Manifold and/or Carburetor may be fitted to injected motor with minor modifications"
Taken as what it is not saying: It does not say a factory manifold must be used to adapt to an EFI engine. You would need to clarify this.
So any EFI based motor could use any manifold to adapt it to carb.

Rodger
Unfortunatly i was the one who wrote the rules and no aftermarket manifolds.Originally Posted by Rodger
