from memory the injector wiring is different within the loom so you'd have to change that along with any other repinning.
Gday, as stated, will a 2jzgte power fc still plug and play with a 1jz>
ive been reading about people who have run 2jz ecu's on 1jz's before, so i figure this can be done also?

I think its more the other way running 2 J,s with a 1J computer.

a retune would be definitely needed.
both motors are 6cly so mapping for fuel + ignition are ready so I dont see how it wont work if you wire it properly. Thought get it tuned ASAP once you got it running.
If I recall correctly the JDM 2JZ's are MAP Sensor based motors so you would also need a Air temp sensor + Map sensor to suite
Im guessing your thinking of when people use a 1jz ecu AND loom on a 2JZ engine (installing a 2JZ into a previously 1JZ powered vehicle.Originally Posted by 77GZE
IIRC the 2JZ ecu (stock and pfc) use a different plug to the 1JZ ecu (stock and pfc).
Generally when no one has done a modification (like adapt a 2JZ power fc to a 1JZ engine and loom) it generally means it doesnt work.

what if we replaced sensors and loom on the 1jz engine with the 2jz ones......
But isnt there a 1jz power FC....
yes there are pfc's for the 1jz. im guessing he has a cheap deal on a 2jz pfc though somehow!

There certainly are 1JZ powerfc but good luck finding one (and if you do at a price less than a bar of gold bullion)
If money is the root of all evil.... then why do they pass the collection plate around in church
AP engineering Power FC for a 2jz may work, example a AP FC for a jza70 uses a FC with the correct plugs and pin out for a jzz30 but it comes with an adapter harness which you use then you can plug the jza70 loom into it. I have one.
The AP FC for a 2jzgte also comes with a adapter harness to suit the 2jz but the fc has jzz30 plugs and pin outs on it aswell

Thats right, the ecu itself is a JZZ30 ecu however you would be silly to think the 2jz pfc and 1jz pfc are programmed identically. Think about the differences between the two other than the engine control, for example, sequential turbo control (2JZ) hydraulic engine fan control (1JZ / JZA70), air con ect ect.

Not entirely true - it could mean that it's not viable, not that it doesn't work. Non VVTi 2JZs have different plugs but you could repin the 1JZ pins into a 2JZ connector. VVTi 2JZs have the same plugs as a JZZ30, and pretty much everything else.Originally Posted by JZA70 R
If all you can get is a 2JZ PFC I can't see much reason it wouldn't actually work once tuned?
True, but nothing is stopping you from not plugging those in.Originally Posted by JZA70 R
Not relevant, different ECU runs the fan.Originally Posted by JZA70 R
Not relevant - if a plug-in adaptor fixes it, so will a repin.Originally Posted by JZA70 R
