Nope, it cantr be done, you need to use the 212mm 4age flywheel, the bellhousing simply wont fit over the gze flywheel
Does anyone know whether I can mate a 4AGZE flywheel (230mm) to a 4AGE gearbox from the 100kw gen3 motor? The standard flywheel size is 212mm.
Its a long story, but due to budget constraints I need to be able to use my standard gearbox, but I do want to upgrade it to the gze box at some stage....problem is I need a clutch kit now to balance my engine as a whole and I dont want to buy the clutch kit for the standard box...know what I mean?![]()

Thanks for the quick and concise answer
I've decided to use my standard box and get the clutch kit to suit. I can always upgrade later...

Is this in FWD?
GZE flywheel is 224mm, but in unsure weather it will fit the splines on a fwd gbox. Ive got one lying around in the shed, so if u really want to know, send me some measurements.
If its rwd, dont bother.

GE and GZE boxes have different input shafts. So there is no way you can use the same clutch for both of them.
However if you keep the 212mm flywheel and GE box and get a serious clutch, then down the track you can just get a new friction plate (or possibly have your existing one resplined) to match tne ZE box.

Whoops forgot to mention this is for a FWD. What measurements do you need exactly?

Also the ZE flywheels have extended bolt holes for the friction plate. This adds about another 3cm of depth to them, but ive seen people who have machined them off.
Dont forget, ZE run 224mm clutches.

I can't take the measurements at the moment, because I don't have the gearbox with me. Does anyone else have this gearbox and can take the measurements for me?
I need to confirm this ASAP, because I need to order the clutch kit today. First person to reply with the measurements will receive rep points![]()

Which flywheel are you using?
It sounds as if your GZE flywheel won't fit in the bellhousing, so you'll have to run a 212mm GE flywheel. In which case you can get any clutch kit listed for an AE92 GTi Corolla.
If you want a kit to suit the GZE flywheel then you may have some trouble getting it off the shelf given the flywheel's different design.

At the moment I'm using the standard flywheel from the 1990 Corolla SX. It would be nice if I could buy a clutch kit for the AE101 LSD GZE gearbox, but use my standard box...then later swap it with the GZE gearbox so I'm not wasting money buying 2 clutch kits.
If it's too difficult then that's bad luck for me...I'm sure I could sell the Exedy clutch kit for the GE second-hand.

You'll have to measure your GZE Clutch, they vary and you won't know until it's out and you can measure it.
For instance, mine was a 230mm Flywheel with 232.5mm PCD.
You cannot buy a clutch kit that will suit both the GZE box and the standard C series box.
If you want to do that, go and pickup a cheap E58 somewhere for 150 with shafts (last price I saw), get a clutch kit to suit the GZE, then later upgrade to the LSD box and shafts...

You also cant physically fit the 224mm GZE flywheel in a C-series box. I tried for giggles when i was doing my GZE conversion.
