    Default Strut brace on ra28.

Hi guys. I have seen some members rides with strut braces on their 28's? I know whiteline make some. Do they make them specifically for 28's? Can anyone tell me how much clearance they get over the 1ggte when used in an ra28? I am wondering if it will fit in mine?

I know blake has one in his 1g ra23, and it works fine...

and i intend on running one on my ra23 1j... I dont see why it wouldnt fit, unless your motor doesnt clear your bonnet??? lol

I think adjustable s13 ones will also work, and you could prolly find 2nd hand ones pretty cheap from importers or ns.com

whiteline ones just clear the 1ggte's, i got a random one from an importer and made it fit (due to the position of my idle control, the whiteline wouldnt clear....)

speaking of strut braces, do you still want my whiteline one jase?....i had forgotten about it.

In theory you can fit a strut brace into an RA28 with a 1G (See crappy pictures attached)

Weather or not it will fit in your engine bay depends on how high the 1G has been mounted, Mine sits pretty low compared to most and only just fits. With a custom plenum and turbo manifold of course it could clear by heaps.

Yeah had one on my 28 as well with the 1g.

Don't bother buying one if you haven't cut your mounts off and lowered though as it won't fit if your still using an unmodified ra2x crossmember.

Feel like putting up a picture as well to remind me of the total one drive I ever had of that thing

Cheers for the pics guys. I think we have established that it wont fit a whiteline one without cutting and lowering the mounts on the xmember. Any ideas on other makes or designs that would fit?

Can anyone confirm this, my engine obviously clears the bonnet but hasn't been dropped on the xmember. Is anyone using an s13 strut brace? The seem pretty cheap and readily available.

    Tom,

The whiteline one will NOT fit unless its on the lowered mounts. My mounts are as low as possible and it only just clears.

Opps, i forgot about the stock pipework on the 1G...

If you can clear height wise, i thought blake ran an s13 strut brace... Then again, it might be an unknown off the shelf from the importer...

    Ignore me from now on
